Ski tours in Bad Kleinkirchheim

The starting point for this ski touring hike is the Innerkrems toll station, directly on the Nockalm road. From here, you head to the Nockalmhof and continue along summer hiking trail 121 via the Bärengrube to the Peitlernock. Icy mountain streams, old larches and crooked stone pines await you along the route.

Equipment tip: suitable touring skis can be hired from the sports stores in St. Oswald, Bad Kleinkirchheim and Innerkrems.

The starting point of this ski tour is St. Oswald: either on secluded forest paths or, after the end of the ski season, on the ski slope, the tour leads up to the Mallnock. At the edge of the ski area, the route leads to one of the most panoramic peaks in the Carinthian Nockberge mountains. Here you have a magnificent view of the southern Alps. In safe conditions, you can hike east from the Mallnock to the Soldier's Cross. From the Soldier's Cross, the trail leads down beautiful slopes to the Falkertschutzhaus and from there back to St. Oswald on the toboggan run.

From St. Oswald, the road leads along to the Falkerthaus and the Lärchenhütte. You hike past this, along the Hundsfeldgraben to the tree line. From here you have a fantastic view over the snow-covered landscape. On the wintry, snow-covered, open alpine pasture area, the route leads directly to the Steinnock and back to the starting point via the same route. A pleasant ski tour, the descent in the wonderfully clear air of the Nockberge mountains makes for red cheeks, the fantastic winter landscape for beaming faces.
